Welcome to West Stockwith
CLICK FOR 2021 CENSUS DATAIntroduction
West Stockwith is an ancient linear village, one of only a few remaining in the county. It boasts the hospitality of two public houses (White Hart Inn, Waterfront Inn), a Marina with an on-site club, and a Caravan Country Park. There are 2 other focal points in the village; one is the Malt Kiln playground, and secondly, the Gertrude Morris Hall, which hosts various events like pantomimes, keep fit sessions and Macmillan coffee mornings. Opposite the Malt Kiln playground, fresh vegetables are available daily from Kim and Martin's stall. If you enjoy outside life, there is a lot of walking in the area along the Chesterfield Canal, River Idle and the River Trent. If history is your thing, then walk the Heritage Trail; details of which can be found in St Mary’s Church, opposite the White Hart Public House.
